Family Of Noise
Originally formed in 1993 with James Brennan on drums, Andy Holland on bass and Jim Holland on guitar, family of noise gigged locally for just over two years. Never actually recording any material, the band never officially broke up, but never played again after 1996.
In early 2013 the band reformed, employing Darren Starmer's tub thumping skills on drums and have since gigged regularly up and down the country, with local, national, tribute and signed bands alike. Releasing their first (and to date only) EP in 2015, more material is in the pipeline for releases later in 2017 and early 2018. The band cite their main influences from the post punk movement in the late 70's / early 80's, in the guise of KIlling Joke, Bauhaus, New Model Army, Siouxsie and the Banshees, and The Cure to name just a few.
Never a conscious decision, they opted for an instrumental direction when, in their first incarnation, the search for a singer proved fruitless and they grew used to performing their tunes 'singerless'. Lend your ear do to their instrumental noise nuggers!
