To enter musicians need to submit their audio via localmusiclive.org
The audio must be the copyright of the person submitting and all relevant licensing with pictures, audio and video is the responsibility of the person submitting. Should there be any infringement of ownership or licensing, the submission will be removed from the website and the competition.
The winner will be the “favourite” decided upon by a panel of judges and announced in June 2018. This panel will include representatives of Howarth Timber and the organisers of the event The Local Radio Network.
The judges decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into regarding their decision.
The ideal time for the recording to take place is during August.
The Howarth Timber favourite will win two days at Redwall’s professional recording studio in Bury, Manchester.
This will include the recording of a single track of their choice with full mixing and mastering. They'll be given the Production Master Audio CD, several promo copies and the various digital format copies. (WAV, MP3s etc).
Bands - full tracking of all instrumentation - bass, guitars,drums, vocals etc. Mixing and mastering and Production Master Audio CD, with a copy for each band member.
Soloists - to backing track only - full vocal recording, mix and master with Production Master Audio CD and a copy for themselves.
Single track music video to be shot either in studio or location within 100 miles of Leeds.
Video will be edited with music track pre-recorded and provided by artist.
Video location will be subject to agreement between both parties.
Artists wishing to use props etc must provide these themselves - no third party costs to be incurred in the production of the video with regard to location, props or professionals beyond the video team.
DMF Digital will liaise with the "favourite" and devise a programme of professional artist advice
The ARIAS 2018 take place at the Leeds International Arena on Thursday 18th October. The final decisions on timing, duration and appearance will be taken by the organising team representing The Radio Academy.
